One of the things that deadheads like myself tend to spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about, debating and analyzing is about zombie locomotion. Would they be shamblers, like most of them are in the George Romero films, or would they be able to sprint like nineteen-year-old track stars, like they do in the 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake?
I'm kind of in the middle: I think, if the body has decent integrity and is freshly dead, the zombie may be able to ambulate quickly and perform more complex tasks...for a while. As decay happens, the physical abilities of the body lessen.
Of course, all this is only in regards to REAL zombies (i.e. the reanimated dead) and is not meant to reflect on other types of The Risen, like the possessed dead (e.g. in the Evil Dead movies) nor the infected (e.g. 28 Days Later).
So, I prefer my dead to be shamblers. Don't hold it against me, if you like runners.
That brings me to this video, a funny homage to the Romero films, and just how scary one little zombie is...
